Indie toon studio DHX Media has recently signed a deal with Viacom Media Networks over the sixth season rights of their hit action comedy animated series Johnny Test, with plans to air the season in Nickelodeon Germany. As part of the deal, Viacom will also be renewing their rights to seasons 1 and 2 of the hit cartoon. The sixth season acquisition will bring Johnny Test’s total to 117 episodes. The sixth season will feature the show’s 100th episode, which will be written by show creator Scott Fellows (creator/EP – Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, Big Time Rush; EP The Fairly OddParents).
Johnny Test follows an 11 year old boy and his talking dog, who frequently end up as test subjects for Johnny’s twin sisters, who are identical twins AND extremely intelligent. The show is targeted towards kids aged 6 to 11, and has proven to be a hit in Nickelodeon Germany, boasting of 14.6 million viewers for the kids 3+ audience since 2009.
