Jason Spisak Interview: LEGO DC Gotham City Breakout Premiere
On June 26, 2016, the Directors Guild of America in New York City NY played host to a family-friendly World Premiere of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Gotham City Breakout. The event included a free screening of the movie, and a Q&A panel discussion after the movie with members of the voice cast and the filmmakers, who were also on hand to sign collectible posters and lots of photo ops. Kids in attendance were given a free Mighty Micros Lego kit to take home.
ToonBarn Writer Marc Morrell was on hand to cover the event and perform red carpet interviews before the screening of the movie. In yesterday’s story, you saw the interviews on the red carpet with Brandon Vietti (Producer), Jim Krieg (Writer), and Matt Peters (Director). Today, we have a special interview with voice cast member Jason Spisak (voice of Joker). Also, look for the companion story today with John DiMaggio (voice of Deathstroke). The Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD became available today, July 12th. The Digital HD download became available June 21st.
In LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Gotham City Breakout, Batman agrees to take a vacation and leave the fate of Gotham City in the hands of the rest of the Justice League. Unfortunately, his “down time” is cut short when he, Batgirl and Nightwing run into Bane and Deathstroke (who shares his back-story in this movie). Meanwhile, back in Gotham City, the Joker breaks out of Arkham Asylum, and with a little “help” from Superman, sets Gotham City’s villains free to terrorize the city. So it’s up to the Justice League, with a little help from the Teen Titans, to save Gotham and bring everyone back to justice before Batman returns from taking down Bane and saving Madame Mantis.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and the LEGO Group, LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Gotham City Breakout will be distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on June 21 via Digital HD, and July 12, 2016 on Blu-rayTM Combo Pack and DVD.
The Blu-rayTM and DVD releases will include an exclusive Nightwing LEGO® figurine, while supplies last.
