Regular Show and Penguins of Madagascar Win Emmys

Cartoon Network’s Regular Show and Nickelodeon’s The Penguins of Madagascar both received top honors at this year’s 2012 Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, which was presented last Saturday at the Nokia Theatre in LA.

Penguins of Madagascar, which is a spin off of the hit Madagascar movie series, was awarded the Outstanding Animated Program honor due to the episode “The Return of the Revenge of Dr. Blowhole”. Penguins is slated to spawn an upcoming full length movie feature of its own.

Cartoon Network’s Regular Show, on the other hand, received honors for Outstanding Short-form Animated Program due to the episode “Eggscellent”, which has Mordecai winning a trucker’s hat for Rigby via an omelet eating contest.
