Deadpool test animation leaks
FX’s Deadpool animated series just wasn’t meant to be. In the wake of its cancellation, lots of information about the series have surfaced. One of the more intriguing bits is a piece of test footage from Titmouse. The MotorCity studio pitched the series but ultimately lost out on the would-be job to Atlanta’s Floyd County Productions, the company behind Archer.
The minute-long sequence was posted on Twitter by Titmouse, before quickly being deleted. In it, viewers can expect to see the cursing and gore that made the Merc with a Mouth famous. Clips from Ryan Reynolds portrayal of the character in the live action film are used for audio.
That’s not all, though. Showrunners and executive producers Donald and Stephen Glover haven’t been silent about Deadpool’s cancellation. In a series of now-deleted Tweets, Donald directly denied speculation that he was simply too busy to work on the series. He ended up sharing a Deadpool script mocking the situation. In it, Deadpool is tasked with protecting the world’s last male northern white rhino while providing a meta-commentary on why the show got cancelled. The Hollywood Reporter has transcribed the script, with a table read of it here courtesy of YouTube channel New Rockstars.
Donald’s brother Stephen also shared his thoughts in a now deleted series of Tweets. He opined that an episode around singer Taylor Swift was “hilarious,” but ultimately may have done the project in. Details regarding the content of that episode weren’t shared.
