Disney XD Unveils New Footage for Marvel’s Spider-Man

Disney XD has just released the first sneak peek footage for the upcoming animated series Marvel’s Spider-Man, which promises snarky web-slinging and wall-crawling action from your friendly neighborhood spider-dude. The clip features a 15-year old version of Peter Parker trying out an early prototype of his costume (a nice way of saying that it looks really bad and amateurish) while mustering all of his wit and luck against the much bigger, much stronger Scorpion. Of course, having the proportionate strength and speed helps as well, so he’s not doing too bad overall.

Marvel’s Spider-Man was originally announced last fall during New York Comic-Con, and very little details have been provided outside of a “summer” launch date, but the creative staff has been released and it’s nothing short of impressive: supervising director Philip Pignotti (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man) and executive producers Alan Fine (Marvel’s The Avengers, Iron Man, Thor), Dan Buckley (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.), Joe Quesada (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

Co-executive producers are Stan Lee (Spider-Man), Eric Radomski (Spawn, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble), Cort Lane (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man) and Stephen Wacker (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble); with supervising producers Kevin Shinick (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Robot Chicken) and Marsha Griffin (Transformers Prime, The Life and Times of Juniper Lee); consulting producers Dan Slott (Spider-Man: Big Time, The Superior Spider-Man), Kevin Burke and Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man).
