Disney XD Welcomes Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2017

A new original cartoon will debut next year on Disney XD featuring Marvel’s Spider-Man. The series follows the character as an insecure but brave teen who has to discover how to be a superhero. The Marvel Animation and Family Entertainment SVP Cort Lane announced the show launch on Saturday at New York Comic Con.

The series is produced by Marvel Animation. Its creative team features executive producers Dan Buckley (Marvel’s Hulk, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.) and Alan Fine (Iron Man, Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Joe Quesada (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble); co-executive producers Eric Radomski (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Spawn), Stan Lee (Spider-Man), Stephen Wacker (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) and Cort Lane (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man); supervising producers Marsha Griffin (The Life and Times of Juniper Lee) and Kevin Shinick (Robot Chicken, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble); consulting producers Dan Slott (The Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Big Time) and Chris ‘Doc’ Wyatt and Kevin Burke (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble); and supervising director Philip Pignotti (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble).
