Marvel, through the help of Disney, is planning to introduce their complex, courageous, and inspirational characters to a new generation of kids and families with their very own dedicated programming block: Marvel Universe.
Marvel Universe will premiere on the Disney XD on April 1, and the programming block will serve as the jumping off point for the new series Ultimate Spider-Man, which features an updated and more relevant version of the titular character. The Marvel Universe programming block will also include the 2nd season of The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and several new short-form shows that will give viewers a look behind the camera of many Marvel Universe shows.
The premiere episode of Ultimate Spider-Man, entitled “Great Power”, will start on 11:00AM this April 1st, immediately followed by the 2nd episode entitled “Great Responsibility” at 11:30 AM. Marvel Universe’s premiere episodes will also be made available on DisneyXD.com and via Video On Demand on Comcast’s platforms on the same day. The following day will see the episodes’ release on Disney XD mobile Video on Demand, in platforms such as Metro PCS, AT&T, MobiTV, Verizon, Sprint, Xbox Live, iTunes, and Sony Playstation.
