FXX to Get a Deadpool Animated Series

Fans who just can’t get enough of Deadpool will have something to look forward to, provided that they’re not averse to the animated medium. According to a recent report by Variety, FXX has commissioned 10 episodes of an untitled Deadpool cartoon and has slated it for a 2018 debut.

The Deadpool cartoon will be created by brothers Donald and Stephen Glover, with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory on board as executive producers. Marvel Television will be producing the project in collaboration with FX Productions and ABC Signature Studios.

Of course, it should not be a surprise to any one who is familiar with the Deadpool franchise (particularly the Ryan Reynolds-helmed film that seems to be responsible for the franchise’s recent boost in mainstream popularity) that the animated Deadpool series will be targeted towards adults. The fact that it’s under the same umbrella as Archer is also a good indication that this is not something that you would want the kids to watch.
