This coming Saturday, January 12, stars from hit Disney TV shows will be joining local Boys & Girls Club kids and Marvel’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man at the Burbank Public Library in order to kick off “Reading With: Marvel Comics Close-Up,” which is a new initiative that promotes children’s literacy.
The event will be attended by Disney stars Drake Bell (Ultimate Spider-Man), Dylan Riley Snyder (Kickin’ It, Marvel Comics Close-Up), Olivia Holt (Kickin’ It), Adam Hicks (Pair of Kings), Cole Jensen (Crash & Bernstein) and Karan Brar (Jessie). Disney XD Worldwide’s VP and GM David Levine, as well as Ultimate Spider-Man’s supervising producer Cort Lane will also be in attendance.
Marvel Comics Close-Up will consist of a series of interstitials hosted by Marvel’s CCO Joe Quesada and Dylan Riley Snyder. The interstitials aim to encourage children to read more. The series will debut Monday, January 21 during the one-hour season two premiere of Ultimate Spider-Man (7 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney XD.
