The latest Marvel anime series has landed on television in South East Asia. Marvel Future Avengers debuted on Disney XD Asia on September 15th. The English language version, which is produced by Studiopolis, airs Fridays at 7AM and Saturdays/Sundays at 8:30AM (Malaysia/Philippines/Singapore).
Marvel Future Avengers centres around Makoto, a young boy who is granted super powers through a gene manipulation experiment. Alongside a group of other gifted youths, Makoto joins the legendary Avengers super hero team as part of their apprentice program, the Future Avengers. Together the group learns to fight the forces of evil with the help of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and Wasp.
The show is produced by Madhouse, who previously helmed the more adult-oriented Marvel Anime franchise of anime TV series and direct-to-video films. Future Avengers is directed by Yuzo Sato, written by Ryuu King and features character designs by Takahiro Umehara.
The series initially launched in Japan on the Dlife channel on July 22, 2017. A second season started on July 30th of this year. The anime series is just one component, as a manga series by Teruaki Mizuno is serialized in Shogakukan’s Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics Special anthology magazine.
