Transformers: War for Cybertron Makers to Develop a Marvel Game
High Moon Studios is one of the few game devs that actually have enough sense to make a good game out of license, even though it’s usually easier for developers to just create a half-arsed game and enjoy as the cash starts to roll in. Their Transformers: War for Cybertron is arguably the only enjoyable video game based on the Transformers license that has come out for any system, and while we’re still waiting for the follow up, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, High Moon may give us another videogame that will do a licensed property justice. Namely, a new game based on Marvel Comics’ property.
Now, it’s true that there are a lot of well-made games based on Marvel property (even though some of them are basically just fun games with Marvel skins, instead of being true videogame representations of the licenses), but it never hurts to have another new Marvel game to play with, right? Especially if it’s going to help you forget the crappy gameplay of the Iron Man games or the glitches and framerate issues of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.
As for High Moon’s Marvel game, no details have been given yet but they have already confirmed that their next project is all about Marvel Comics, and that they will make a full announcement at the San Diego Comic Con, during the Marvel Video Games panel on July 14th.
On a slightly related note, there’s also the Marvel MMO coming out, so Marvel fans will have their gaming plate full for the next few years at least.
