Weekly Shonen Magazine to Run a Doctor Strange Prequel Manga

This coming January 27, 2017, our friends over in Japan will be graced by the theatrical release of Marvel’s Doctor Strange film adaptation. In order to promote the release, the 52nd issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine will be releasing a one-shot manga titled “Doctor Strange: Episode 0.”

Said manga will serve as a prequel for the film, focusing on protagonist Stephen Strange’s exploits prior to the events of the film. Which could mean less focus on magic and more on neurosurgery and being arrogant. Of course, don’t expect this to mean that the manga will be boring. We’re talking about a manga here, and the medium is known for the uncanny ability to weave exciting action adventure stories from mundane topics as cooking and card collecting.
