According to the Hollywood Reporter, Writer/Comedian Tina Fey is currently in talks to join the A-list cast of The Muppets sequel, opposite fellow comedian Ricky Gervais. The two have already worked together in the past, with the 30 Rock star appearing opposite Gervais back in 2009 via his film, The Invention of Lying.
The film will reportedly follow the format of a classic Muppets caper, with the entire gang being lead all across Europe. Fey is said to play a prison guard in a Russian gulag. Other cast members include Ty Burrell, who will be playing an Interpol inspector, as it seems like the Muppets will run into trouble with the law while during their transatlantic adventure.
The Muppets sequel will be directed by returning auteur James Bobin, from a script co-written with Nicholas Stoller. The Muppets 2 is slated to arrive in theaters by the end of this year.
