My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks Scheduled for September

After the success of the 2013 movie My Little Pony Equestria Girls, Hasbro Studios and Shout! Factory have once again joined forces for the follow-up: My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, which is scheduled to screen in over 300 theaters across North America starting on September 27.

In My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, the Canterlot Highschool is hosting a musical showcase, leading Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy to form a new band called the Rainbooms. However, friction starts when a new girl group called The Dazzlings arrives at CHS and convinces everyone to turn the event from a friendly showcase into a competitive battle of the bands. What’s worse, the newly reformed Sunset Shimmer discovers that the Dazzlings are after something that’s more sinister than just being crowned as the best band. The Rainbooms then call on Princess Twilight to restore harmony to their world, as well as help them perform a musical counter spell that will save the school.
