My Little Pony: The Movie Makes its Way to Home Video

If you somehow missed My Little Pony: The Movie in the theaters, you will have your chance to watch it on your own terms in the next couple of months, as Lionsgate has scheduled a December 19 release on Blu-Ray and DVD, followed by On Demand on January 9. Of course, as expected of any home release, there will be extras galore:

The BD/DVD/Digital release will include a deleted scene, an exclusive Equestria Girls short, “I’m the Friend You Need” (Taye Diggs) music video, and featurettes on “Baking with Pinkie Pie,” “Making Magic with the Mane 6 and Their New Friends,” “The Journey Beyond Equestria” and Hasbro’s mood-themed cross-platform franchise “Hanazuki: Full of Treasures.”

If the reason why you missed the movie in the theaters the first time around is because you didn’t know what it was all about, the movie focuses on Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity as they go on a journey beyond Equestria to save their beloved home from an ominous, dark force. If that’s not enough for you, there’s also a handy trailer:
