VIZ Media and Eleven Arts’ U.S. premiere of the ninth Naruto (sixth from the Shippuden series) feature film, Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, was originally planned for a limited screening in 35 cities around Canada and around 45 locations in the U.S. staring in August 29. However, it was recently announced that the film’s limited screening schedule has been extended to September 7 and 11 for major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and more.
Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie follows the titular jinchuuriki and teammate Sakura Haruno as they are ambushed by Akatsuki member Tobi and transported to an alternate reality using the Limited Tsukuyomi. In the alternate reality, Naruto finds that his mother and father never died but that’s the least significant change, as it seems that everyone else’s personality is different. For instance, Sasuke is a flirty teenager who has never left the village, while Sakura learns that her parents are dead and her father was the fourth Hokage.
