eOne is preparing to launch a new bike-themed preschool series on Nickelodeon this September 9. Titled Ricky Zoom, the new CG series will revolve around the fast and not-so-furious adventures of a little red motorbike named Ricky, as well as his friends and neighbors in the town of Wheelford.
Nickelodeon will join a growing list of networks that are airing Ricky Zoom, which consists of Super RTL (Germany), Clan TV (Spain), Gulli (France), RAI (Italy), Youku (China) and Discovery Kids (Latin America), with further deals in the pipeline.
“The U.S. will play a key role in the rollout of Ricky Zoom around the world,” said eOne’s Monica Candiani, EVP International Content Sales, Family & Brands. “Securing a broadcaster of this calibre in this crucial market is a reflection of the high quality animation and storytelling that people have come to expect from an eOne show and we’re delighted to strengthen our long standing relationship with Nickelodeon.”
In conjunction with the series’ debut, eOne will also release a tie-in app that will give fans an opportunity to engage with the characters in-between episodes. Titled Ricky Zoom: Welcome to Wheelford, the app will feature tons of mini games and interactive playgrounds that kids can explore.
