M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender brings Nickelodeon’s Avatar to 3D

M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender brings Nickelodeon's Avatar to 3D

On July 2nd, a mere 6 weeks from now, Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures will bring The Last Airbender to the big screen. The film is M. Night Shyamalan’s live action representation of Nick’s Avatar: the Last Airbender animated series, an American anime with manga style. As an added little bonus, and largely due to the amazing success of … well… every film that has come out in the past year or so, The Last Airbender is getting the 3D treatment. The movie promises to delight on all three dimensions now, reaching out into the audience, as long as you’re wearing those neat little glasses. What’s your thoughts on the whole “everything must be 3D” trend? It worked well for the other Avatar – do you think it will click with Nickelodeon’s version?

Noah Ringer as Aang
Nicola Peltz as Katara
Jackson Rathbone as Sokka
Dev Patel as Prince Zuko
Shaun Toub as Iroh
Aasif Mandvi as Admiral Zhao
Seychelle Gabriel as Princess Yue
Jessica Andres as Suki
Cliff Curtis as Fire Lord Ozai
Katherine Houghton as Kanna

Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies will give M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender the 3D one over, but don’t worry the 3D conversion will NOT mean shifting the release date that remains July 2, 2010, per THR.
