Mysticons returns from hiatus this month

The second season of Nelvana’s girl’s action series Mysticons premiered on Nicktoons on January 13th. Then, unexpectedly, new episodes went on hiatus after February. Fans, rejoice! The drought is almost over, as episode 28 “Save the Date” will air on Nicktoons on April 21st at 8 AM.

New episodes are also returning in Canada. YTV will be airing two episodes every Sunday at 11 and 11:30 AM starting April 8th. The show’s been on hiatus in its native country since last October. The show’s return will be marked with the season 1 finales Through “My Enemy’s Eyes” and “The Prophecy Unleashed.”

Mysticons debuted on Nickelodeon and YTV last August. The series follows the epic tale of four unexpected heroes who transform into legendary warriors and undertake a mythic quest to save the world. Playmates launched a range of action figures and other toys to support the series last fall. Topps released a trading card line that ties in with the show’s mobile app earlier this year. Dark Horse is reuniting its Spell on Wheels creative team, writer Kate Leth (Patsy Walker aka Hellcat!), artist Megan Levens (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and colourist Marissa Louise (Wonder Woman Annual) for a Mysticons comic book line starting on August 8th. Macmillan Publishers will release a novel series starting this June.

Created by Sean Jara and produced by Nelvana, the first episode order for Mysticons consists of 40 half hours. The series is being broadcast as two 20 episode seasons. In Canada, Mysticons can also be seen on Teletoon and Nickelodeon.

All times listed in Eastern.
