Nickelodeon has recently announced the first ever global SpongeBob Squarepants-inspired short film competition, aptly named SpongeBob Squareshorts: Original Fan Tributes. The event invites Spongebob fans and filmmakers of all ages around the world to create fresh, new, and original short films based on the SpongeBob Squarepants franchise, for the chance to win a cash prize and a trip for four people to a screening event in Hollywood, California.
The call for entries in the SpongeBob Squareshorts Competition opened last Monday, May 6, and will continue all the way through Friday, June 28. Entries can be submitted under two categories, Under 18 years of age and 18 and over.
