Nick Preps SpongeBob Halloween Special: The Legend of Boo-kini Bottom

We’re still a few months away from the Halloween season, but Nickelodeon already has concrete plans on how to put a little scare in their programming – a brand new, stop motion special for SpongeBob Squarepants titled “The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom.”

SpongeBob Squarepants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom will focus on the story of the Flying Dutchman, who wants to ensure that every single creature in Bikini Bottom is scared out of their wits. The problem is that SpongeBob actually thinks scary things are funny, so the Flying Dutchman has his work cut out for him.

The special is being produced at the Los Angeles-based stop motion animation studio, Screen Novelties, and is slated for an OCtober 2017 premiere on Nickelodeon. Mark Caballero and Seamus Walsh are serving as co-directors, with Chris Finnegan of Screen Novelties credited as producer.
