Nickelodeon to Launch New Series, BreadWinners, on February
This coming Monday, February 17 at 7:30 PM ET/PT, Nickelodeon will be expanding its ever-growing slate of original creator-driven content via the animated series Breadwinners, which is created by Teen Titans Go! and MAD’s Steve Borst and MAD, Metalocalypse’s Gary Di Raffaele. Breadwinners was first discovered via Nick’s 2012 Animated Shorts Program and proved to be worthy of its own series.
Breadwinners consists of 20 episodes and follows the adventures of two ducks who are best friends, SwaySway and Buhdeuce, while they operate a bread delivery service out of their own jet-fueled Rocket Van. Following the premiere, new episodes of Breadwinners will continue Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT), in its regular timeslot on Nickelodeon. The series will roll out internationally beginning fall 2014.
“This is our first series to come out of our animated shorts program and we are very proud and excited to bring it to our audience,” said Russell Hicks, President, Content Development and Production, Nickelodeon. “Steve and Gary have created a fresh, fun cartoon with great characters and an infectious music backdrop that we think will have kids laughing and bouncing with each episode.”
