Nickelodeon Names Jill Sanford as New VP of Animation Development
Nickelodeon has just announced the appointment of Jill Sanford as Vice President of Animation Development, Nickelodeon Group. Sanford will be responsible for all aspects of development – from concept to pilot – including all of creative and production. Sanford will be reporting to Senior VP of Animation Development, Jenna Boyd.
“Jill’s creative expertise and proven track record of overseeing animated hits makes her a terrific addition to the Nickelodeon animation team,” said Jenna Boyd, Senior Vice President of Animation Development, Nickelodeon Group. “Her keen eye for identifying unique ideas and talent will be a huge asset as we continue to grow our hit Nick animation brand.”
In her new capacity, Sanford will be researching and developing show ideas, as well as oversee scripts, creative, legal, casting and staffing for pilots. She will also be assisting in overseeing the comedy shorts program and will partner with the company’s short form development team in order to find and guide the next generation of animated hits.
Sanford’s past work experience includes several positions during a nine year tenure at the Walt Disney Company, where she most recently served as Director of Original Series for Disney Television Animation, and was lead current series exec for the hit animated shows Phineas and Ferb, Fish Hooks, and other projects that are still in development. Sanford has also held positions at Fox Sports Net and commercial production company, Hungry Man.
