Take a sneak peek at Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling

On the first day of their San Diego Comic Con extravaganza, Nickelodeon revealed our first look at the brand new Rocko’s Modern Life TV special. Static Cling brings the characters to present day Earth after being lost in space since 1996. While Rocko’s friends are making light work on adjusting in to present day life, the Australian Wallaby is struggling and wishing for the days of yore. Will he ever fit in?

The trailer satirizes just how quickly technology advances. O-Phone 10? Pfft, I’ve got O-Phone 11! It’s also got something to say about today’s energy drink craze, digital distribution of media, superhero movies, and, uh, food trucks.

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling reunites most of the original Nicktoon’s voice cast and creative crew. It’ll premiere on Nickelodeon sometime in 2018. The original series aired for 52 episodes over four seasons between 1993 and 1996.

Static Cling is just one of a handful of Nicktoon revivals the company is working on. Nickelodeon has also announced a Hey Arnold! TV movie and a brand new Invader Zim TV special.

Are you excited for these retro revivals? Do you have a favorite Nicktoon that you’d like to see brought back? Leave a comment down below!
