Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece Join Forces in JUMP FORCE

At Microsoft’s recent E3 conference, Bandai Namco’s new fighting game titled Jump Force was revealed. This new game is a crossover fighter that features characters from popular Shonen Jump series, such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece. A surprise reveal at the end of the teaser trailer shows characters from a non-shonen, yet still massively popular manga/anime franchise:

The reveal of Jump Force is wholly unexpected, as Bandai Namco still has games due to come out based on the One Piece and Naruto properties, not to mention the fact that they’re busy with other anime/manga-based releases like My Hero Project, New Gundam Breaker, and the still active Dragon Ball FighterZ.

As for how the game plays, it’s a 3D arena-type fighting game in the same vein as the Naruto Storm series. You can check out IGN’s gameplay video to see it in action:

It’s also unexpected – yet very welcome – that the game is coming out for the Xbox One as well, as Microsoft’s platform of choice has long since been snubbed when it comes to titles that are heavily targeted towards Japan and anime fans from all over the globe (Microsoft’s consoles, along with the PC platform, historically had poor marketshare in Japan compared to Sony and Nintendo’s platforms.)

There’s no definite release date yet, though. Jump Forces is expected to launch in 2019 on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
