Luffy to Appear in Live Action TV Special

One Piece is definitely not a stranger to inter-franchise crossovers, after all, the IP has already appeared in various crossover videogames and even had a TV special with Dragonball, Naruto, and Toriko. However, Luffy’s appearance on Yo nimo Kimyō na Monogatari this April 11 will be particularly noteworthy because it’s going to be a CG/live action hybrid, with Luffy appearing as CG in the live action TV series.

he special is tentatively titled Yo nimo Kimyō na Monogatari 25-Shūnen Special Haru ~Ninki Manga-ka Kyōen-hen and will have Luffy appearing in the segment titled “The Gum-Gum Man,” which focuses on a gang lieutenant played by Hiroshi Abe, who has been hospitalized after a gang fight and ends up eating the Gum-Gum Fruit.
