Despite initial announcements that there are no plans to release the 3DS version of One Piece: Romance Dawn RPG for the US, Namco Bandai has just announced the game’s release for the North American market this holiday season.
In most cases, publishers and developers going back on their word are usually met with criticism from gamers, but in cases like this, nobody will be complaining as the NA market is frequently passed over when it comes to localization of many high profile anime-related videogames (as opposed to the EU market, which sometimes gets their own localized versions).
This is especially welcome news considering that the Nintendo 3DS is region-locked, so even if a US gamer can read Japanese, it’s not going to be as easy as just importing the cart.
One Piece: Romance Dawn will cover almost 600 chapters of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, from the start of the series all the way through the Marineford Arc. You can check out the TGS trailer below:
