One Piece’s Nami Special Scheduled for August
Toei has recently announced that a One Piece TV special that focuses on the Strawhat Pirates’ navigator, Nami, has been scheduled for August 25, 2012. Entitled Nami: Bonds and Friendship and Tears of the Navigator, the TV special is said to re-animate the pirate heroine’s origin story, and will serve as a jump off point for the events that are relevant to the recent “Fishman Island” story arc.
According to the official synopsis, Nami: Bonds and Friendship and Tears of the Navigator will follow Nami as she steals the Merry Go pirate ship from Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of her Strawhat pirate crewmates and abandons the group. Luffy and the rest of the strawhats pursue Nami and eventually track her down to Cocoyasi Village.
