First Preview Video for J-Stars Victory VS

jump victory vs j

A new preview video for the upcoming J-Stars Victory VS has just been released, showing off some of the characters that will be playable in the 3D fighter. For those not in the know, J-Stars Victory VS. is created in honor of Shonen Jump’s 45th anniversary, and will feature some of the iconic manga franchises that were born from its pages. The video shows off characters from Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Rurouni Kenshin, Toriko, and Kochikame.

Jump’s crossover videogames are not knew, and has seen iterations for the PS2, Gamecube, and Nintendo DS, but J-Stars Victory VS seems to be unique in the sense that it’s no longer a Super Smash Bros-type game, but a proper 3D fighter in the same vein as the Budokai Tenkaichi games. Of course, purists should check their expectations for accurate representations of power levels at the door before playing this game, because this is pure fanservice, where you will finally see Himura Kenshin fighting Ichigo in Planet Name, and more than holding his own. You can check out the preview below:

Neil Raymundo
