Toei Outlines Plans for Dragonball Z, One Piece, and Saint Seiya Films
Japanese entertainment Powerhouse Toei Animation has recently announced plans to release a new Dragon Ball Z movie in March next year. The new Dragon Ball Z movie is directed by Masahiro Hosoda, with the script written by Yusuke Watanabe instead of series creator Akira Toriyama. Toei originally adapted the Dragon ball Z property into a TV series back in 1986, where it became a huge phenomenon not just in Japan, but in other countries as well.
Morishita also talked about the latest animated One Piece movie, which will be out in Japan on December 15 this year. The upcoming One Piece film will be the 12th animated film based on Eiichiro Oda’s hit pirate-themed manga. Titled ‘One Piece Film Z’, the movie finds the Straw Hat Pirates going against an ex-marine admiral named Z, who is said to be one of the gang’s most powerful adversaries to date.
Another project in the works is a CG-animated feature version of Saint Seiya, which is expected to be ready by July of 2013.
