35th Anniversary Site for Mobile Suit Gundam Launched

A brand new online portal for the 35th anniversary of Sunrise’s Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has just been launched, via the tag line “Rise! The World is Moving” and a video screen that shows “Coming Soon: March 20th, 2014 5 PM ON LIVE.” You can check out the page itself at

The first TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam aired in Japan on April 7, 1979 and while the site doesn’t provide any other details, it is safe to assume that a big announcement will be made on the date specified. Current fan speculation point to the long-awaited Gundam: The Origin anime series or a new OVA follow-up to the very successful Gundam Unicorn.
