7D: Disney Brings Back the Seven Dwarfs

It’s been a long time since Disney’s version of Snow White’s seven little benefactors have enjoyed their own screen time, so Disney’s going to bring them back, albeit with a few modern twists.

Scheduled to premiere in 2014, the new series titled 7D will be a reintroduction of the Seven Dwarfs, which is described as a more “comedic take” on the little creatures, and this time the setting is a contemporary storybook world that is designed for viewers aged 2 to 7 and their families.

Nancy Kanter, senior VP of original programming and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide said, “Our goal for Disney Junior is to engage kids with stories and characters that represent the very best of Disney storytelling. With ‘The 7D,’ we look to continue Walt Disney’s legacy of reinterpreting classic folk and fairy tales in ways that delight new audiences. We’re excited to re-imagine these familiar characters and put them in a new humorous setting that we think will entertain kids and parents alike.”
