9 Story Entertainment’s international distribution arm, 9 Story Enterprises, has recently acquired the worldwide distribution and licensing rights (excluding Brazil) the the animated comedy series Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids (40 x 11).

Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids was a breakthrough hit in Brazil, where it became the most watched Pay TV program for children aged 4 to 11 for the months of April, May, and June earlier this year. It was also the first ever animated show to reach said spot after just a month of airing, and the first ever Brazilian animated series to reach the top of the chart.

Targeted towards viewers aged 8 to 12, Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids focuses on the 12 year old boy Pepe, who helps out at his grandmother’s potion emporium. Together with his friends, Pepe usually gets into offbeat adventures and hilariously odd situations as a result of his frequent misuse of his grandmother’s magical artifacts.

“Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids embraces an offbeat and edgy style of humour that has found a real following with today’s kids,” said Natalie Osborne, Managing Director, 9 Story Entertainment. “This unique series is a fantastic addition to our portfolio and we are excited to bring it to an international audience.”

“Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids has been a huge success in Brazil, and we are thrilled that 9 Story will be expanding its distribution,” said Paulo Boccato, owner of Glaz Entertainment. “9 Story has a tremendous reputation within the industry and we’re so pleased to be partnering with them on this show.”
