9 Story Media Group has just scored a raft of new sales for the award-winning animated preschool series Peg + Cat. The 80 x 12 minute series originally premiered on PBS Kids back in 2013 and has since garnered 4 Emmy awards. The new partners include Treehouse (Canada) for the second season, Super RTL (Germany), Canal+ Family and Piwi+ (French & French-speaking regions) for 40 additional season 1 episodes, and GRICS, which has secured the license of season one for French-speaking Canada.
Peg + Cat was also picked up by Tele-Quebec, TFO (Canada), Tiny Pop (U.K.), ABC (Australia), TVNZ (New Zealand), TG4 (Ireland), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RTP (Portugal), MiniMini (Poland), Telewizja Polska (Poland), Discovery Kids (Latin America), Beijing Sunshine Culture and Communication (China), MediaCorp (Singapore), PTS (Taiwan), Disney (Korea), Television Media Korea, True Visions and TV3 (Thailand), HOP (Israel), E-Junior (U.A.E.), MBC Kids (Middle East) and Zee Learn (Indian Subcontinent).
For the uninitiated, Peg + Cat is a Math-inspired animated series that focuses on an adorable little girl named Peg and her feline sidekick as they try to solve various problems using basic arithmetic and their innate creativity. The show is notable for its distinct look – the entire episodes look like they were animated on graphing paper.
