Adam Sandler goes Dracula in Hotel Transylvania

Just this week, Sony Pictures Animation announced Adam Sandler has checked into Hotel Transylvania. The comedic actor will star as the voice of Dracula in the 3D animated comedy, which is due to hit theaters just before Halloween next year, September 21st, 2012. Animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks, the film will feature many voiceover celebrities, including Kevin James as Frankenstein, Fran Drescher as the Bride of Frankenstein, David Spade as Quasimodo, Steve Buscemi and Molly Shannon as a married werewolf couple, Cee Lo Green as Murray the Mummy, and Andy Samberg as Jonathan. Yeah, just Jonathan. He’s the “normal guy” in the film.

The Columbia Pictures film will be directed by the legendary Genndy Tartakovsky of Samurai Jack fame. And Star Wars: Clone Wars fame. And Dexter’s Laboratory, Sym-Bionic Titan, The Powerpuff Girls, 2 Stupid Dogs… so you know the project is in good hands. The animation team is also the same as those behind the upcoming film The Smurfs, which has already amazed with visual style.
