Amblin, WB to Reboot Animaniacs

The rambunctious Warner Bros and Sisters Yakko, Wakko, and Dot will be returning to the small screen via a new batch of episodes of the animated comedy series Animaniacs, according to a recent report. This is notable because it’s been two decades since the show last bid adieu, and according to reports, will be rebooted by Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation with original executive producer Steven Spielberg still participating.

For the uninitiated, Animaniacs originally ran on Fox Kids in 1993 before moving to Kids’ WB! In 1995, where they delighted an entire generation of kids with the stories of three 1930s cartoon siblings Yakko, Wakko, and Dott, as they escape their confinement in the iconic Warner Bros. Water tower and run amok using their vaudevillian, slapstick brand of humor. The show was popular with kids and adults alike, thanks to the use of humor that is both accessible to all ages yet possessing hidden depths for the adults.
