Arc to Produce Canterville Ghost

Toronto-based studio Arc Production has recently partnered with Dorado Media and Capital in order to finance a 90-minute CG animated movie based on Oscar Wilde’s short story The Canterville Ghost.

The project is scheduled for a holiday 2014 release, and will be produced by Melmoth Films, and will feature the voices of Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, who started out as a comedy duo but have since carved their own career paths, making this a reunion of sorts for the two British actor-comedians.

The Canterville Ghost tells the story of a family that moves into a house haunted by a tormented ghost, and whose daughter forms a friendship with the lost spirit.

“As the first project through the Dorado-Arc pipeline,” said Arc president Jeff Young, ”The Canterville Ghost embodies all of the qualities we are looking for in an animated feature film and will yet again allow us to showcase our creative team who continue to perform brilliantly on worldwide brands such as Barbie, Halo and Thomas the Tank Engine.”
