Archie Andrews of Archie Comics to “Die” In ‘Life With Archie’ #36

life-with-archie

Archie Andrews will sacrifice himself to save the life of a friend in issue #36 of Life With Archie. The issue will be released in July.

This event is meant to conclude the Life With Archie series, which follows the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, and all their Riverdale friends as they move through the motions of life after high school.

Publisher Jon Goldwater had this to say:

We’ve been building up to this moment since we launched Life With Archie five years ago and knew that any book that was telling the story of Archie’s life as an adult had to also show his final moment. This story is going to inspire a wide range of reactions because we all feel so close to Archie. Fans will laugh, cry, jump off the edge of their seats and hopefully understand why this comic will go down as one of the most important moments in Archie’s entire history. It’s the biggest story we’ve ever done, and we’re supremely proud of it.

However, before you go into a tizzy and break out the tissues, remember that Archie is alive and kicking in his regular series. Archie Comics seems to come up with a new gimmick every few years to get our attention, and this is no exception. In other words, take stuff like this with a grain of salt and go about your Archie comic reading business. This Archie fan plans to, anyway.
