If the first official trailer for Universal’s 2012 feature Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax left you curious and interested in more details, then the new Australian trailer may give you exactly what you want; the newly released trailer for The Lorax offers more details about the highly anticipated adaptation of the Children’s book.
The Lorax is based on a children’s book of the same name, written by Dr. Seuss and published in 1971. It tells the story of the Lorax, who is a creature that speaks for the trees and the environment, against the greedy creature called the Once-ler. The readers are represented by a boy who finds himself in a desolate corner of a town to visit the Once-ler. The Lorax is one of the few children’s books that get critiqued for being too gloomy, yet the book is also praised for its quality, and for Seuss’ ability to straddle the fine line between being gloomy and providing an educational, uplifting lesson to kids.
The big screen adaptation of The Lorax is written by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul, whose previous works include the adaptations of two other famous Dr. Seuss Books – Hop and Horton Hears a Who!. The Lorax also features the voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, and Betty White. The film is scheduled for a North American release on March 2, 2012.
