HIT Entertainment and Mattel pronounced that the all-new series of Bob the Builder, which aims at preschool children has been acquired by VRT (Belgium), France 5, Z@pplin (Netherlands), Turner (UK), Rai YoYo (Italy, RTE (Ireland), MiniMini (Poland), Hop! (Israel) and E-TV (South Africa).
Just a month since Mattel confirmed upcoming co-production and co-development of Bob the Builder through a partnership with DHX Media, the European deals came in. The deal will show new short-form and long-form episodic productions for digital and television platforms, with DHX acquiring on all future global distribution for Bob the Builder.
The new Bob the Builder CG series has doubled its channel ratings in UK (Channel 5’s Milkshake) and experienced a 101% rate increase compared to the classic show in the US (on PBS Kids). While the new show offers the same friendly and easy guide to the construction world and the values of positivity and teamwork, it dons a brand new look, new relatable locations and new characters.
