Boomerang Marks Earth Day with Captain Planet Marathon
This coming April 22, the power will be yours as Boomerang celebrates Earth Day with the help of Captain Planet. In order to encourage kids to serve as environmental stewards for the planet, The Captain Planet Foundation has selected 28 episodes of Captain Planet and the Planeteers, to air in a 14 hour marathon starting at 6 am ET/PT.

The Captain Planet marathon will include the original pilot episode, A Hero For Earth, at 8am. The entire 72×30 episodes of Captain Planet and the Planeteers will also continue to air daily on Boomerang at 6am.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers originally ran for 6 seasons, and has featured an impressive list of guest voice talents, including the likes of Whoopi Goldberg (Gaia), Meg Ryan (Dr. Blight), Martin Sheen (Sly Sludge), Edward Asner (Hoggish Greedly), James Coburn (Looten Plunder), Dean Stockwell (Duke Nukem) and Sting (Zarm). Boomerang is Turner Broadcasting System’s commercial-free home of classic animation channel.
