Cartoon Network Asia has just commissioned a new season as well as a movie of the Indian animated series Roll No. 21, from Animasia Studio. Roll No. 21 is currently airing on Cartoon Network India and is proving to be a hit with viewers, hence the network’s willingness to renew the series for a second season, as well as to back a movie outing.
Roll No. 21 is a modern take on the rivalry between Krishna and Kamsa, this time set in current times as Kamsa has been re-incarnated as the Principal of Mathura Orphanage & School – where he is hatching an evil plan to take over the world, using an army of evil minions and demons.
As for Animasia Studio, they are also working on a new animated film, Bola Kampung – The Movie, which is scheduled for theatrical release in Malaysia this coming March 2013. The movie focuses on a young princess named Amanda, who has been sent to Kampung Gong Lechar in order to find the legendary Suria Warrior foretold to save her kingdom. Unfortunately, the princess loses her memory when she gets to Kampung Gong, where she is then mistaken by Iwan, a local hero, as his cousin who is supposed to be visiting him on a school holiday.
