Cartoon Network Reveals 2012-2013 Slate
Cartoon Network has just announced their programming slate for 2012 to 2013, and it features several new series, as well as returning ones. Including established franchises such as Ben 10 and Batman, along with new ones like DreamWorks’ Dragons and The Annoying Orange.
“We are executing a brand vision and content strategy that is fueling tremendous results for Cartoon Network,” said Stuart Snyder, president and chief operating officer, Turner Broadcasting’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media (AYAKM). “Today, with a re-invented and thriving prime time, along with overall double-digit growth in total day, we are building the kind of momentum that is making this a great 20th anniversary.”
New shows that are included in the 12-13 programming line-up features a new sketch comedy show from former Nickelodeon talent Nick Cannon, as well as the world premiere of DreamWorks Dragons: The Series, based on the critically acclaimed film “How to Train Your Dragon”. Cartoon Network will also premiere a new show based on youtube sensation The Annoying Orange.
Cartoon Network will also premiere new shows based on existing franchises, such as the massively successful Ben 10 Omniverse, and the new CG animated take on the dark knight, Beware the Batman. The line-up also includes the massively popular NinjaGo, which was originally launched in 2011 but has already become the #1 show across 1st Quarter 2012 with the young male demographic.
