CBC/Radio Canada Picks Up True and the Rainbow Kingdom
National public broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada has recently picked up the first two seasons of Guru Studio’s Netflix Original preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom, with plans to premiere the colorful series on March 24. The series has already launched in Quebec last February 4, via ICI Radio-Canada Tele.
“CBC/Radio-Canada is the perfect home for True and the Rainbow Kingdom here in Canada,” said Mary Bredin, EVP Content & Strategy Guru Studio. “We are very excited to be working with the public broadcaster’s incredibly talented team to bring True’s message of positivity and joy to children across the country, both in English and in French.”
For the uninitiated, True and the Rainbow Kingdom is based on a concept from world-renowned artist collective FriendsWithYou, in collaboration with Home Plate Ent. and Pharrell Williams’ i am OTHER. The story focuses on the titular smart and brave heroine, who is accompanied at all times by her best friend Bartleby the Cat as they do their best to protect the citizens of Rainbow City.
