CBC Welcomes Big Blue
Guru Studio, a Toronto-based studio, has announced that its newest project, Big Blue, is now in development with Canadian pubcaster Kids’ CBC. Big Blue comes from the creative mind of Gyimah Gariba (Guru Studio designer), whose distinct style has gained praise from everybody – from Rihanna to Forbes Magazine (15 Young African Creative Rebranding Africa).
The series is aimed at children ages 4 to 8 and follows the underwater adventures of siblings Lettie and Lemo together with their submarine crew as they discover and protect a great, ocean-covered planet from know-it-all jellyfish, ship-stealing crabs and a health inspector shark. During their expedition, they unravel deep secrets and the real beginnings of their latest recruit, the mysterious Bacon Berry.
Big Blue is the newest promising project from Guru Studio, which features a roster of award-winning animated series that include PAW Patrol (with Spinmaster), Justin Time and Dinopaws. The studio is also behind Mattel’s Ever After High (Netflix original) and will launch True and the Rainbow Kingdom, its own Netflix Original in 2017.
