Time is ticking down until the return of morning cartoons on network TV and the architects of it are slowly starting their publicity campaign. Unlike some of the recent children’s animation blocks, Sinclair is able to leverage some synergy into promotion through their various platforms. One of those is local television. While KidsClick’s national partner is ThisTV, many markets don’t have that channel as part of their offerings. To fix that, Sinclair will also air the block on some of their local channels affiliated with larger networks. To promote the launch, many of these channels are launching KidsClick promos, either through show previews in the daily newscasts or with promos. Check out some of them above!
Some of you might be asking, “how come Vortexx never got this kind of push?” Well, KidsClick is run by Sinclair Broadcast Group, who owns the local stations airing the block. Vortexx was a block that Saban Brands paid The CW to air, so the ad revenue went to Saban. With KidsClick, Sinclair is offering their local stations the ability to insert local advertising, encouraging them to promote the block. Pending government approval, they’ll also soon own the block’s national partner, ThisTV. This makes it easier for KidsClick promos to run easily on the channels airing it.
One important thing to remember, though. While KidsClick programming will air every weekday 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and on weekends 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. ET/PT on ThisTV, the local channels are free to air it when they want. If you don’t get ThisTV in your area, it’s a good idea to consult your local listings. KidsClick starts July 1, 2017.
Interesting to hear one of the anchors say Zak Storm: Super Pirate might be coming a little later in the summer. I wonder how many of the known shows will start alongside the beginning of the block?
