Chicken Run Sequel Prepped by Aardman
It has been almost two full decades since Aardman Animations’ CG animated comedy feature Chicken Run set records as the most successful stop motion animated film of all time (with a $225 million worldwide cume that has not been broken yet), but fans will be getting a treat as the studio is reportedly working hard on a Chicken Run sequel.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Aardman has teamed up with StudioCanal and Pathe for the sequel. Details are still sparse, but Aardman has already confirmed via Twitter that they have entered the early development phase, and production will kick off once they finish their work on the Shaun the Sheep sequel, Farmageddon.
It is said in the report that Sam Fell is tapped for directorial duties, while Paul Kewley will serve as producer and writing duties will be handled by the original duo of Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Ferrell. Executive producing will be Aardman co-founders David Sproxton and Peter Lord.
