Amazon Prime launched an English dub of the anime series Chi’s Sweet Adventure last week. Produced by SEGA’s Marza Animation Planet, the first CG-animated 51 x 12 minute season began airing in Japan in October 2016. Amazon simulcasted the Japanese version with English subtitles internationally as it aired.
Chi is a sweet playful kitten who’s always full of energy. She lives with the loving Yamada family. Her daily routine is to drink milk, take naps, and go walk in the park.
It is the first anime series picked up by Amazon to have been dubbed into English for their streaming service. Chi’s Sweet Adventure is available on Amazon Prime in the United States and the United Kingdom. Amazon is also streaming the ongoing second season of the show in Japanese with English subtitles. It debuted in Japan earlier this month.
The series is an adaptation of Kanata Konami’s manga series Chi’s Sweet Home, which ran between 2004 and 2015. It was previously adapted into a 2D anime by Madhouse in 2008. Vertical publishes Konami’s work in English and Discotek Media has released the original anime on subtitled DVDs in North America.
