Turner’s Boomerang streaming services is welcoming the new year with a couple of exciting new additions to its cartoon-focused library, namely the Hanna Barbera toon “A Pup Named Scooby-Doo!” and the first 26 episodes of the “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” animated series. This two shows, while not exactly new, are very successful and will fit in well with the rest of Boomerang’s strong cartoon lineup.
“A Pup Named Scooby-Doo!” originally aired in 1988-91, and featured a pint-sized puppy version of Mystery Inc.’s resident loyal mutt, who may be scared of the silliest of things but is actually brave as brave can be when the situation calls for it (sometimes, he just ends up being lucky.)
The “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” animated series, on the other hand, is a 2D animated spin-off of Sony Pictures Animation’s hit 3D CG movie about technology going extremely wrong. The Boomerang premiere episodes of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will include the commercially-successful “Hair We Go Again,” in which a new gadget is created to solve hair loss problems, and “It’s About Time,” which delves into the hilarities behind cryogenic freezing.
Not to be outdone, it helps to remind people of just how infectious every single episode of “A Pup Named Scooby-Doo!” can be, as proven by its theme song:
