Constantin Films hopes to out-Disney the House of Mouse with Tarzan

A human child raised in the jungle by great apes, rejecting civilization for the call of the wild. SpongeBob? No. Batman? No. …Stewie? No! We’re talking about Tarzan here. Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan has seen many different animated forms and spinoffs, from “George of the Jungle” to Disney’s animated Tarzan film from ten years ago. Now, Constantin Films is developing a new CG animated adaption of Tarzan, in full movie-standard 3D, with Ambient Entertainment handling the animation. Constantin acquired the rights to the Tarzan books from the estate of author Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan. Disney’s take on the character scored nearly $450 million dollars worldwide, and Constantin would love a similar result.

How come they are doing a 3-d remake? i dont see why they can’t leave it the way it is…the original animation for the classic and the “newer classic” disney movies are beautiful, from Snow White to the Princess and the frog, i dont think any disney classics should be touched, the animation for them is too beautiful/good to be messed with by “CG” even if it’s by someone eles and some other company the classic stories with its original artform shouldnt be touched.
